Boujie Barbarian

About Us

Our history

Rick Donnette, the proud founder, and CEO of Boujie Barbian, hails from Houston, Texas. Growing up in a household where the values of hard work, physical fitness, and leadership were instilled by his parents, it’s no surprise that these qualities became integral to his character. His father’s background as a Ranger Qualified Officer and his mother’s passion for athletics and coaching contributed to shaping his upbringing. In fact, his mother remained unbeatable in footraces against him until he reached his early teens.

With both genetic predisposition and a penchant for challenging endeavors, Rick naturally gravitated towards a career in combat arms. During a period when the country was at war, he enlisted in the Army with the goal of becoming an infantryman in the 75TH Ranger Regiment. Little did he know that earning the tan beret was just the beginning, and arguably the easier part of his journey. Serving as a senior enlisted leader in the infantry allowed Rick to build a career that exemplified his core values of resilience and leading by example.

The pinnacle of his career was the creation and establishment of the Tactical Athlete Performance Center, a multi-million-dollar strength and conditioning facility at Fort Benning, Georgia. This center not only provided a space for physical exercise but also empowered individuals with knowledge of strength training and conditioning techniques to enhance agility and durability on the battlefield.

It was within the walls of the Tactical Athlete Performance Center that the lifestyle brand Boujie Barbarian was born. A diverse group of individuals, united by a shared goal of daily self-improvement to become “harder to kill,” formed a unique bond rarely found elsewhere. For Rick, Boujie Barbarian is more than just a catchy slogan on a t-shirt; it represents a way of life. Supported by a community of individuals from various backgrounds who aren’t afraid to roll up their sleeves to maintain their moral and physical integrity, Rick embarked on a mission to influence the culture of lifelong fitness in a way that sets him apart from others.

As the saying goes, “We can go fast alone, but we can go further together.”

Thank you for joining us on this remarkable journey.
